It's a...
...planet! Astronomers appear to have imaged the birth of a planet for the first time. We're getting there.
Of course, it's a pretty big planet, perhaps a neo-Jupiter. But PDS 70b, as it's called (no fancy names yet) was detected by the Very Large Telescope in Chile.
